How do you feel about homeschooling children.

There is no way I would do this. School can't start soon enough for me. My kids are bored at home with me all day. I take them places , sign them up for classes, and have their friends over, and all of that, but they need itneraction with someone else beside me. I don't think that it's healthy for a school aged child to spend all of his/her time with Mom. There are so many other interesting people for them to meet and learn form, why limit it to me? I might consider it if my schools were so horrible or dangerous that I was scared to send them there. But we pay taxes to support schools and have teachers who are trained to do this. There are many things they will learn from me. I don't feel neglectful sending them to someone more qualified to learn the ABCs & 123s.
I love home school! I was in home school until the fifth grade. It was the best education I have ever had. I didn't have to worry about getting the help I needed (no big classes) and I didn't have to worry about being distracted from my studies. The only thing I didn't get out of home schooling was the social part. Other than that it is a great program!
I think homeschooling is a great idea for someone who is really dedicated and disciplined. You must also have TONS of patience!! As a mom who homeschooled for one year, I can tell you that it is the hardes job I ever have had! Alot of people worry about the social aspects which is very valid...it is important to keep the kids in playgroups, etc. Personally, I would not try again but cheer on anyone who tries and succeeds! Although this isn't something that is for us, I think that it is
something that some families can pull off successfully. I think it is
important that it be done within a network so that the kids can go on fieldtrips
with other homeschooled kids so as to provide for peer
interaction. These networking events should be scheduled regularly.
Maybe provide opportunity for study groups at the library. I know some
kids who enjoy being homeschooled and they don't seem any worse for it.
Personally though, I think my kids and I would be at each other's throats all
day. It takes a special kind of parent to tackle this one. ~Noelle
Homeschooling isn't for everyone. We tried it for a few months and really enjoyed it, but it was hard to keep my child focused on homework. I strongly believe that the parents homeschooling should have some type of teaching credits through a university. I do think homeschooling is going to become more common in the wake of school violence.
I don't think homeschooling is good because your children do not get the interaction with the other children that they need at that age.
I think home schooling is a great idea, if the parents are qualified to teach. If the one teaching does not have a HS diploma or degree in teaching then
